MLM companies
MLM companies refers to multi level or network marketing organisations.
If you're new to the idea you should find out first 'What
is mlm?' and decide if it's for you.
If it is, read on and discover some of the best-known companies
in this field of home based businesses.
Every company listed on this page is a full member of the Direct
Selling Association which regulates the mlm industry, and I'd
advise you to stick with these operators if you want to steer clear
of scams and dodgy arrangements in your network marketing business.
Five MLM companies in the wellness industry
The wellness industry is a big target for network marketers, it's
an area in which they thrive.
'Wellness' generally refers to health of mind and body.
This area of mlm is particularly restrictive for the internet because
companies have to make sure their representatives don't make false
claims and land them in trouble.
It doesn't mean that you can't build a theme-based website around
this type of business, it's best to consider it as a lead generator
and contact maker, don't sell or promote your products online.
Here's a selection of the better known operators in the field of
wellness:
- Amway '... markets and sells health, beauty, durables
and homecare and personal care products to consumers in more than
90 countries and territories worldwide.'
- The Cambridge Diet '... the Cambridge weight management
programmes have provided practical help and support for anyone
wanting to lose weight.'
- Herbalife '...a total wellness company offering high-quality
nutrition, weight-management and personal-care products.'
- Life Plus '...developing and manufacturing ... products
formulated to enhance your well-being.'
- Mannatech 'Our goal is to empower you with the nutrients
your body needs to stay fit, active and successful.'
- Nikken '... the solution to a balanced life and the best
path to Total Wellness, through products for better nutrition,
cleaner air and water, enhanced sleep and improved fitness'.
Three MLM companies in the beauty industry
Many network marketing operators also frequent the beauty industry
and there's quite a crossover between companies doing a bit of health
and a bit of beauty.
Here's a selection of the better known beauty outlets:
- Avon 'In the UK there are 160,000 Avon Representatives
serving almost 8 million customers and Avon is ranked as the 2nd
biggest mass beauty brand.'
- Mary Kay 'The Mary Kay independent sales force exceeds
1.7 million Independent Beauty Consultants in more than 30 markets
worldwide.'
- Body Shop at Home 'Established in 1994 by its parent
company The Body Shop. The Body Shop At Home now has in excess
of 4,500 self employed consultants ...'
Three miscellaneous MLM companies
Although it might seem that way, mlm companies don't just frequent
the areas of wellness and beauty, even if they are extremely well
represented there.
There are a range of other companies that use network marketing
for their products and you're bound to have heard of at least one
of them:
- Usborne Books at Home '...one of the UK's top children's
publishers, also uniquely offers a business opportunity throughout
the UK and Europe selling through school book fairs, home parties
and other bookselling events.'
- Kleeneze 'We specialise in supplying a quality range
of unique home, garden, health, beauty and gift products direct
to your door for free, through our network of independent distributors.'
- Betterware '...the Betterware catalogue is our shop window,
our sales teams distribute it directly to the public and the public
browse and buy from it.'
MLM companies and websites
If mlm or network marketing is the home based business for you, ask
about the additional web opportunities that are available if you become
a distributor.
The chances are the mlm companies will have a web presence, but
if they give you a personal web area it will be generic and not
perform well in the search engines.
As part of your personal mlm plan, consider how you might build
a theme-based, keyword
rich website which will create online interest in your mlm area,
without you mentioning or selling your products directly.
For instance, it's easy to see how you could create a website about
'Beauty on a budget' or 'Make-up for the over 40s'.
By building your website around high demand/low supply/high profitability
keywords in these areas, you would create a steady stream of online
interest in your subject.
Each of these people become mlm leads for your business ... without
the need for endless phone calls and soul destroying prospecting
... they'll come to you!
