You
need to get your hands on some MLM resources and tools if you're
new to the profession, but with so much network marketing material
available on the internet, it can be a daunting process.
MLM products and support systems completely crowd the search engines,
Twitter and Facebook, and it can be confusing where to start.
On this page I've assembled some essential elements for your network
marketing toolkit, to complement my page on MLM
training.
Dip in and out, and don't feel for one minute that you will need
to access all of these, but they're offered as a starting point,
a collection of credible resources which will help you to ease yourself
gently into your MLM home based business without getting caught
up in the hype.
MLM resources: Essential reading
The Wave 3 and Wave 4 network marketing books
by Richard Poe are accepted by many as an essential part of the
MLM booklist ... and he isn't even a network marketer himself.
Richard Poe is a journalist who writes about the subject, and in
that respect he gives a third party endorsement to the credibility
of the profession without having a particular product to sell.
Wave 3 is the perfect introductory book, Wave 4 looks at the impact
of new technologies on MLM.
While we're talking about new technologies, and being an internet
man myself, I must highlight Ann Sieg's work once
again, as she turns conventional network marketing on its head to
come up with some completely new ways of doing business to save
you running out of prospects ... in fact using Ann's techniques,
your prospects come to you.
You can choose to ignore her advice, but I'd recommend that you
at least make yourself aware of what she has to say before you devise
your own marketing strategies ... it might save you a lot of time
and heartache!
The report 'The 7 Great Lies of Network Marketing' is 100% free
and is a good place to start without committing yourself to any
expenditure.
MLM resources: Free audio
I mentioned the value of podcasts on the MLM
training page, but here's a website you need to tuck away in
your internet favourites, because it has useful information on virtually
all aspects of business and all of it is available as free mp3 downloads
with accompanying PDF transcripts.
hardtofindseminars.com is a great, free MLM resource and it's pretty
compulsive listening.
The interview quality isn't broadcast standard, but that's not
a huge problem, it works perfectly well on a PC or mp3 player and
the information is invaluable.
Michael Senoff, the founder, asks sensible and probing questions
making his online resources suitable for both newbies and more experienced
users.
MLM
resources: Three useful websites
It's difficult to know where to start with so many network marketing
websites available, so I'm going to boil it down to three useful
and essential sites which I'm absolutely sure will be useful in
your day-to-day work in MLM.
Firstly, the most important website of them all, the one that belongs
to the industry representative, the Direct Selling Association at
www.dsa.org.
Not only does the DSA let you know if your proposed business partners
are registered with them, they give you access to all sorts of useful
information, links and guides.
For instance, from reading the website I can tell you:
# World wide, over 70% of direct sellers are women whose aim
is to supplement their family income with an opportunity that is
flexible in terms of time and commitment
# For 8 million men and women, direct selling is their principal
source of income
# Direct selling is a growing sector of the home shopping market,
with annual sales exceeding £2 billion.
Secondly, although it has to be one of the worst designed websites
I've seen in a long time, www.mlmlegal.com is a
really usefull resource, particularly the free videos, many of which
are also available on YouTube.com.
Jeffrey Babener is the expert giving the advice - he knows his
stuff and his videos are very useful.
Here's an example with Jeffrey Babener answering a question which
most network marketers will have asked at one time or another:
Finally, and I would say this because I'm a techie rather than
a network marketer, don't rely on the generic websites provided
to you by your company.
Generic websites don't work - period.
They're great for referring customers who already want to buy,
so that they can order products from you, but in terms of search
engine performance, they're extremely poor.
I'd recommend that you take a look at the Site Build It! ad below
before you even start thinking about websites, because it will show
you how to build a high performing site (there's proof
- 62% of SBI! websites ae in the top 3% of all websites)
which will end up bringing prospects to you ... rather than you
having to seek them out all the time.
