Network
marketing leads are the key to your MLM business in the long term,
but this is often where many people come completely unstuck.
We all know someone who has started up a businesses
like this, pitches frantically to friends and family, then discovers
that the industry relies on generating a constant flow of new leads
... and that invariably means having to be a sales person!
Traditional network marketing theory will encourage
you to rely on any number of the following techniques:
# Brochures # Audio cassettes, videotapes and CDs
# Telephone scripts
# Business cards and stationery # Home visits # Opportunity
meetings
# Print advertising # Telemarketing # Generic websites
However, most of these techniques require an awful
lot of you and they're very time intensive.
They also require you to be a salesperson and it takes
a certain type of person to be able to keep prospecting and hassling
people in the hope that they'll make a sale.
So what's the alternative?

Although
personal contact and offline marketing techniques will always be
at least a small part of any business - even if it's just giving
someone a business card that you strike up a conversation with on
the train - it's a system I reject as a techie and heavy web user.
Why would I want to chase around hassling people who
clearly aren't interested in my product when I can use the internet
to get warm, ready-to-buy prospects coming to me?
So my number 1 message to you if you're a Network
Marketer is Use the web!
Here's how to do it:
1) If you're a web novice without a proper web presence,
use Pay-Per-Click advertising (PPC) via Google
(best for newbies), Bing and Yahoo.
Here's an example of a PPC advert:
This advert will show up automatically on websites
where terms like SEO (search engine optimization) and web traffic
are used.
That way my PPC advert is only shown to people who
are interested in my theme in the first place ... they've determined
that by reading a web page about those topics ... so I've instantly
overcome my first sales barrier.
If they then go on to click on my PPC ad - and I only
pay if they do click on it - then I stand an even greater chance
of converting them.
2) Article marketing is a similar
but cost-free way of generating network marketing leads doing exactly
the same thing and you can find out more about it on my ezine advertising
page.
My favourite tool for doing this is EzineArticles.com
which - in my view - is the best of the lot in terms of the service
and support it provides and the quality traffic it delivers.
With article marketing, you write a quality, keyword rich article
- about 500 words is best - about whatever your topic is, and then
you are allowed to add a promotional link to your own website at the
end of it.
These articles show up very high in the search engines
so say, for instance, somebody does a Google search for 'health
for over forties' and your ezine article called 'Fitness For Over
Forties' comes back in the results.
The web user is interested in your topic, so is already
receptive to buy ... they've told you they want more information
about your product via their web search, you haven't had to go looking
for them.
If they read and enjoy your article - which should
never be salesy - they will be more inclined to click your link
and maybe go on to buy your product.
You need to commit to article writing on a regular
basis if you have no web presence, other than a generic ecommerce
site which is provided by your MLM company.
That way you'll get a regular flow of targeted, ready-to-buy
customers heading your way.
3. The third way to get Network Marketing leads online is to use
social media.
In very simple terms, this is done by using sites
like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and MySpace just to name a few.
They're free to use and are - in the first instance - a great way
to chat to people, find interest groups and interact with like-minded
people who may be interested in what you have to sell or maybe,
just how you make your money.

has users coming to you to find out about what you're doing ...

You'll notice with all these online techniques that interested
customers find you, you don't have to find them first.
You offer interesting and useful content, they find you via specific
searches, you solve a problem for them with your product ... and
it's a business match made in heaven!
4) The final technique you should be aware of for generating
Network Marketing leads online is 'Attraction Marketing' which
Gavin deals with in a focused way in his social media approach.
However, you can apply these principals across your online
business as Ann Sieg deals with at great length in her Renegade
