Online mlm refers to multi level marketing on the web or network marketing via websites. Multi level marketing, mlm or network marketing is a system which allows independent sales people to work from home. As they do so, they recruit other sales people in their team. They draw commissions from the sales of their recruits - and from the recruits of their recruits - and so on. The total number of sales people you have in your team is called your 'downline'.
The theory is that if you build enough commissions, from 10s, 100s or possibly even 1000s in your downline, you can derive an impressive residual income from your efforts and the efforts of everybody else in your team. Of course you also have an 'upline', the people who recruited you and take commissions from all your sales! Be clear though, like all home based businesses, it's not about get rich quick ... so forget looking like the chap in the picture, for now at least! Generic mlm websites are basic, formulaic, conveyor belt offerings which are unlikely to do much business other than from people who are sent directly there via an offline marketing method like a letterhead or calling card. However, there's a great opportunity for every mlm home business on the web, and it doesn't create any practical difficulties.
