Webgains affiliate program

Webgains is the second affiliate program that I started using and it's one I've stuck with because I get on extremely well with it.

Webgains screen grab

It doesn't boast the same range of big name companies that, say, Tradedoubler does, but it's a good company to have in your portfoliio because:

# They won't hassle you in the early stages of your business start up because you're making few - or no - sales

# They support multiple websites, and it's easy to add as many domain names as you need

# They support Paypal payments and you can set the frequency (weekly/monthly) of payments as well as the threshold to trigger a payment

# It's intuitive to use and manage

# They operate a website that's tailored to the needs of different countries including the USA.

The first thing to do once you've set up your account is to browse to the Affiliate Program Directory where you'll find well over 300 different options categorized by section, as in the screen grab below:

By way of example, I'm going to navigate to the 'Internet' section and sign up for a web hosting program.

As you can see from the image below, I'm not overwhelmed by choice, which is why Webgains in an addition to your portfolio rather than the main part of it.

It's easy to sign up to the Lunarpages UK scheme and in this case, I get instant approval rather than having to wait a few days for access to the banner code.

By clicking on the 'Get links' button (I can also get text links which contain my affiliate code) I am offered a series of differently sized banner ads to select from in a list:

Webgains banner code

From here I select 'Get code' for the banner ad that I want to use, and the code is automatically generated for me.

So, for instance, by cutting and pasting the code below into this page, I get the banner Lunarpages UK banner, which contains my unique affiliate identifier:

<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript">
var myTarget='http://track.webgains.com/click.html?wglinkid=59544&wgcampaignid=59430&js=0';
var uri = 'http://track.webgains.com/link.html?wglinkid=59544&wgcampaignid=59430';
document.write('<a href="'+myTarget+'" target="_blank" onMouseOver="window.status=\'http://www.lunarpages.co.uk\';return true;" onMouseOut="window.status=\'\'"><img src="'+uri+'" width="468" height="60" border="0" alt="lunarpages web hosting"/></a>');
</script>

Every time somebody clicks on this add, and goes on to buy, I take a small commission.

As you can see, Webgains is very easy to use and that's why I recommend it if you're just getting set up as affiliate marketer.

For more experienced users, the following useful features are also available:

# Completely customizable reporting options ... get the information you want in the format you want it (html/pdf/csv)

# Schedule reporting by email or get it from the website in 'real time'

# Multi-level access can be set up, to allow different users to manage your account. This means that a webmaster could set up your ads for you without accessing your financial areas.

# Flexible support optiosn ... via email, phone or Messenger.
