Your chance to win 'Google Adsense for Dummies - ezine subscribers get exclusive access!

After the success of my last competition to win a copy of 'Spare Room Start Up' (find out more and see winner information) I've decided to launch a second online contest, this time opening up entries beyond the UK.

What's more, as a web-work-at-home.com EXTRA! ezine subscriber, you get two additional entries free, giving you more chances to win.

The regular rules of my competitions state one entry per person and normally I'd just delete multiple entries.

However, by entering the special subcriber's code (below) on your entry forms you may make a total of three entries into the competition giving you two additional chances to win.

The special 'members only' code word that you need to use is:

EXTRA!

Google Adsense for DummiesIt's as easy as that ... get your entries in now and you could be the winner of 'Google Adsense for Dummies':

Good luck in the competition!

Learn how to make websites and build a web business at home

My Site Build It! foldersHave you ever looked at websites and thought to yourself 'I wish I could do that?'

I do this quite frequently, and although I've been making my own websites for several years now, I still wish I knew more!

I've been lucky, because I learned all the basic skills via work-based training, then taught myself the rest at home.

However, what do you do if you really want to get a web business started on the web, but you don't know how to do it?

You can either pay somebody a fortune to make a website for you - and lose a lot of control in the process - or you can learn to do it yourself.

The company which I use to create these ezines and make my own website, has just launched a 12 week, 10 session training course - based at home - which will teach you how to buld your own business website.

It's called SBI eLearning, and it will teach you not only how to build a website, but how to build a web business.

There's currently a special introductory $200 rebate available too - just click on the image below to find out more.

SBI! eLearning

By the way, the image of the folders above shows my own bookshelf at home. I've learned so much from working with SBI! - even after over 7 years of working on the web - I print everything out and keep it on hand for when I need the information ... that's how good it is!

Building Facebook applications to spread your business message

Facebook logo

I've been doing a lot of work this month of Facebook applications, both at work and at home.

Facebook applications allow you to add fun things or useful gadgets to your pages.

From a web marketing point of view they're excellent, because if you hit on a good idea, people pass it around and it catches on really quickly.

For instance, here's a fun application I built on Facebook called 'What Kind of Time Waster Are You?' which looks like a bit of fun, but culminates in a link to a business page at the end.

At the time of writing, I'm nearing 3200 users for this application - how's that for a bit of viral communication?

My coding skills aren't up to building my own Facebook applications - believe me, it's a pretty complicated matter - so I'm using two 'DIY' services which make life a lot easier.

Check them out for yourself and see if there's anything you could be doing on Facebook to boost your own web business.

I made the 'What Kind of Time Waster Are You?' application using Application Builder ... no coding or technical skills are required, it talks you through the entire process.

Another great way of making 'widgets' and applications is to use Widgetbox.com which have used to make this new application to promote my websites.

It can also be passed around on Facebook, Bebo, Twitter and so on.

I've written a feature about Facebook Applications on the main website and of course if you're already on Facebook, please look me up while you're there:

A free website with no ads? Surely not!

The reason I've been a bit quiet on the news article front this month is because a) I've been making a lot of Facebook applications and b) I've been rationalising my old websites - the ones which weren't built with SBI! and therefore aren't performing well enough.

I'm now putting my effort into web-work-at-home.com - which in 4-5 months is already outperforming all my other websites - and when the domain names expire, I'll drop them.

I don't want to be paying hosting costs in the meantime, so I've moved these sites onto a free hosting service called 110mb.com, and reduced my multi-domain hosting with nativespace.com to a less expensive service for the 9 sites that I will continue to maintain because they're bringing in enough income.

For instance your-local-shop.co.uk is one of the sites that is due for the chop, so it is now hosted on 110mb.com.

It is a genuinely free basic service - though you can pay for add-ons of course - and I'd particularly recommend it because it really is ad free (any ads are mine).

I've written about it on the main website in the article Create a free website and you can sign-up or find out more by clicking on the graphic below.

I'd welcome your feedback on this ezine, particularly if I'm missing anything that you'd like to see in future issues.

Please get in touch via the 'Contact Me' page on the main website.

Good luck with your home internet business however you choose to go about it.

All the best,
